Woodworking with Don Cross
My First Coffee Table
My first coffee table is incredibly
strong and durable,very easy to
make and can be completed in
just one weekend. The top is 3/4
pine boards biscuited together.
The legs are simply 2x4s cut in half. I just ripped a standard 2x4 down the middle and used a 3/4 round over bit to finish it off.
I used dowels to conect the base
together. I also staggered the holes
so the dowels wouldn't hit each other. I had to use a Doweling Jig for this, it would be very difficult to do this with out it. here is the jig I used.
The pocket hole screws I used to conect the top to the base make this table incredibly strong!.
All together there are 32 pocket hole screws holding this top on. Thats why my fat kids are able to sit on it without breakeing it!
